like a spring whose waters never fail

well. right about now this all feels impossible. 15k toward the piping system is not even really within reach, let alone 100k for the entire project. on my run this morning i felt the Holy Spirit reassure me that He hears the longings of the hearts of the people in the remote villages of uganda.  no one is out from under His watchful eye. He has overcome.  the battle is already won.  and now we just get to participate in the mysterious way He chooses to redeem and restore.  through us.  it's remarkable really.

the stories of despair and devastation because of the water crisis run right along side the stories of hope and life.

i'm reminded of diana.  her fierce eyes.  her determined and proud smile.  i remember the way my heart pounded hard and loud as i read isaiah 58 to her, grasping her hand and blinking back tears.

"i will give you a full life in the emptiest of places.
you'll be like a well watered garden, a gurgling spring that never runs dry. you'll use the old rubble of past lives to build anew, rebuild the foundations from out of your past. you'll be known as those who can fix anything, restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate,
make the community livable again."

when 15 year old Micah Fowler sent me the following picture of a painting that she did for the raffle this year i couldn't believe how beautiful and perfect it was. sweet micah has been in my life for the majority of hers.  i remember the potty training (sorry micah!), i remember when her mother couldn't get her to stop sucking her fingers, i remember christmas dates at fargos, and science experiments she did for my kids and am so proud and honored that she would donate something like this for this year's raffle.

i call it "diana's well" and it will be added to the bidding page today.
