Rearing it's Ugly Head

Well, I've had quite the week. It's hard to describe the way you feel after three days with little, if any, sleep.
Insomnia, it's back again and it's uglier than ever. So, yea, I've had my share of hard nights, waking up at 3, not being able to fall back to sleep till 5.....frustrating? Yes, but not as dehibilitating as just simply NOT falling asleep, there are no words to describe the helpless, lonely frustration that builds at 4 am when you haven't nodded off once.
Before you start to feel too sorry for me, I am blessed with a couple people in my life with perscription Ambien who have graciously handed off baggies of the sweet, sleep inducing pills to me. Because of this, I've managed to get 4 or 5 decent nights of sleep since this past weekend. Ambien is priceless and although I've tried not using it a couple of nights this week, it hasn't worked yet.
Here's my goal....
  • Go see a doc or a sleep specialist
  • Test my thyroid, hormone levels and whatever else that could be causing this
  • Get a perscription for ambien or lunesta or something
  • Find what my "sleep" issue is, fix it, fall asleep naturally on most nights and just use the perscrption after a hard night or when I'm sleeping in a hotel room with my father who snores....

We'll see, would love any prayers you would like to throw my way on behalf of my sleeping.

(FYI....Drinking alchohol before bed helps you fall asleep but not stay asleep, it makes your sleep fitful, not restful.)
