dave's home

dave's back. and life feels "normal" again.

the last couple days have been busy and fun, but life just feels wierd when he's not around.

i miss him.
i stay up WAY too late.
i don't sleep the best.

soooo, i'm super glad he's home.

he had fun making the wine and he did a good job of documenting his adventure. i guess i'm glad he took the camera after all :)

so, i guess we sold most of the grapes to some winery in walla walla, but we kept a ton (literally ONE ton) of grapes for ourselves. the guys took the grapes we kept to waters winery (jason's place) to make a batch of wine.

all the grapes get dumped on the "crush pad" where you manually remove sticks, branches and debris

then they get sent through the "de-stemmer" and dumped into a big vat

and then there's these big stamper things that smash the grapes down to get the juice out. they add yeast to the juice and it just sort of hangs out and ferments for a couple weeks....

and here's that spot we sat around talking and drinking wine when we were there a month ago...i just LOVE that little spot.

wish i could have been apart of it, but then i would have missed out on all of the parenting opportunities i had here :)
