last month, mops brought in this guy named kirk weaver. he's the founder of Family Time Training based out of littleton, colorado . he was passionate and creative and believed, i mean hard core, believed in the mission of the family unit. and ever since i heard reggie joiner speak at a children's conference in chicago a handful of years back, i've been super jazzed about empowering parents to spiritually impact and lead their kiddos. and now, 4 years later, wham-o, I am the parent....geez.
and at this particular mops i realized two things
1) avery is totally old enough for a consistent, focused time of talking and praying and story-telling and game playing as a family.
2)we are not doing it
so i bought this great book that has ideas for creating a family time once a week for pre-schoolers.
and we are doing it. you are my accountabilty.
thursday nights = family night.
(yes, that is the christmas tree in the background and yes it is gone now)
first up-lazarus. kind of a funny first story to do with your two-year-old.
she was a bit scared of the whole dying/coming back to life part, but we had fun wrapping ash in toilet paper:)

We are doing Wednesday nights family nights. Its my only NY resolution! =) This week we are going to make an ark and hunt for stuffed animals to put in it. I love it. We just need our family theme song. What's yours?
