this slays me

Slow never killed time, only the rushing and racing, the catching up that tries to catch up to time, this is what kills time. Why keep wounding eternity?

the hurry makes us hurt.
life is not an emergency.

i don't really understand how i can believe in this so strongly and yet struggle to live it out day in and day out. there is no need to rush, especially, especially, in this season with young children. all of my rushing to scrub the tub, to get the play room cleaned up, and throw crusty bowls in the dishwasher, all before leaving the house in time, always ends in frustration and "come on"'s and tears. i hate it. why do i rush them and then get so frustrated that their little 2 and 4 year old bodies aren't as efficient as i want them to be? father forgive.

today i want to breath in and out this truth: life is not an emergency.
may i let go of all but His grace.

Bingo! I've learned this over the last few years. Hence when you come into my house (unexpected) you will most like find an (expected) mess. And you know what? I don't care! LOL.
