how to catch a grasshopper

avery is very good at it. it's been a favorite pastime this spring. she is serious and patient and persistent. she'll have 12 or more in her little jar after an hour or so of "hunting". i kind of love that we have a little bit of "wild" in our back yard. that hill is scary and a bit ugly. but they explore and catch grasshoppers.
