getting to joy

avery and ashton have hand, foot and mouth disease.  i'm disgusted just typing that.  doesn't it sound horribly gross?  i'm battling a sinus infection and have a son who is determined to fall down the stairs.

you can’t get to joy by making everything perfect. You can only get there by seeing in every imperfection all that’s joy.

choosing joy has been hard the last two days.  really hard. painfully hard.

but here it is:

we have a grandma who could care less about our diseases and still wants us to come over.

we did have another box of emergen-c.

i'm pretty sure we have mild cases around here.  they sure aren't acting very sick.

everyone slept great last night.

everyone is napping now.

i just got a text from dave saying i could bow out tonight if i needed some time to myself.  um.  yes, please.

Ugh. Sick kids are NOT joyful, but I love that your heart is. Hang in there, and go get a Starbucks tonight!

So sorry Mandy! Glad your perspective is still fixed right where it should be...on JOY! It's been a really rough summer of sickness around here and amongst those things we had Herpengina (nope, not an std)...runs in the Hand, foot, mouth family as well. Hope you feel better soon! PS-I love reading all of your little posts!
