Amiah waited patiently for the Lord;
    he turned to her and heard her cry.



He lifted her out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire; 
he set her feet on a rock
    and gave her a firm place to stand.







He put a new song in Amiah's mouth,
    a hymn of praise to our God.
