cousins and friends and flag cakes, oh my!

here are my vacation girls.

they did so well in the pool.  avery had a ball swimming with no puddle jumper, using her googles to dive for stuff at the bottom of the shallow end.  it was fun to watch them love swimming so much. 

i was sad to leave.  every time we drive away from table rock lake i start looking forward to our next trip down there, picturing the ages of the kids and planning all the things we'll do again.  

thankfully the post vacation blues didn't last too long because there were some very special people waiting for us here in colorado.

we are getting in some much needed cousin time before they move to ghana.  read more about all of that crazy business here.

on the 4th of july we were able to have some dear, old high school friends over.  we used to spend every 4th of july with logan and amanda.  we have lots of memories hiking to the punch bowls and throwing the frisbee at the air force academy with them.  now there are 7 kids between us, well eight actually because amanda's due with their 5th child in october.  i know.

we spent the whole day together and i only took pictures of the older kids decorating our flag cake.




so thankful for the people we are blessed to call friends and family.
we are sucking every ounce of life and joy and relationships out of this week.  and all of that sucking makes for some grumpy kids ;)

good thing they're all napping now!
