isaiah 28

why does it feel like i've never read this chapter before?

he's talking about wayward priests and prophets.

verse 9 "who is it he is trying to teach? to whom is he explaining his message? For it is :

do and do, do and do,
rule on rule, rule on rule,
a little here, a little there.

very well then, God will speak to this people "this is the resting place, let the weary rest; This is the place of repose.

but they would not listen! so the word of the Lord to them will become:

do and do, do and do,
rule on rule, rule on rule,
a little here, a little there.

so that they will go and fall backward, be injured and snared and captured."

".....we have made a lie our refuge and falsehood our hiding place."

oh Father, protect me today from doing too much, from getting caught inside the bubble of rules, for trying to be too productive. let me instead be guided and consumed by Your Holy Spirit so i won't fall backward, so i won't be injured and so no one can capture me. may You alone be my refuge; my hiding place.
