good books

"it's very tempting to worry that the whole book approach to learning will leave holes in our children's education.  heck, pretty much every schooling approach is going to leave holes.  here's the thing, reading whole books will naturally fill in several of those holes.  and here's the other thing, children raised on good books will know how to close their own holes in their learning."

brilliant. yes.
thank you sally clarkson.

i am always looking for books for my little miss to read.  in case you are too, here are some good series that we have found and love:

cul de sac kids by beverly lewis

the bobbsey twins by laura lee hope

the borrowers by mary norton

magic tree house by mary pope osborne

ramona quimby by beverly cleary

imagination station by paul mccusker

and of course i have to include the chronicles of narnia and the little house series.

if you have some more good book recommendations for us, i would love that!
